I am so excited to be finally sharing with all of you what I was up to a few weeks ago! I partnered with America’s Thrift Store which I have loved shopping at since I found it while I was at college. So when I got the email to partner with them it was like a dream come true because I love to shop and I love to find deals!!! And it came at the perfect time with my Renew posts going on over at Alabama Women Bloggers, Spring Cleaning, and America’s Thrift Stores Spring Donation Drive!
First I wanted to tell you guys a little bit about America’s Thrift Store before I get into my actual trip!!
America’s Thrift Stores are mainly located in Alabama and in surrounding states but are all located in the South and focus on staying that way. They take Donations year round and give about 50% back to Ministries and Charities. “In addition to donating a significant portion of our profits to Christian charities, we also provide over 1,000 jobs in the states we operate our stores (Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee). Our full list of ministry partners along with their missions is here:http://www.americasthrift.com/about-us/our-ministry-partners/ but a majority of them provide counseling and support for recovering addicts or a safe haven and support for at-risk or previously abused women, children, and families. The funds we are able to donate to them come directly from the donations people generously make to us and help the charities keep their doors open and continue providing their specific services to people in need. If you’d like more information about us, you can find it here: http://www.americasthrift.com/about-us/ and our Donate pages have quite a lot of good information on how to donate, what to donate, and why to donate: http://www.americasthrift.com/donate/how-to-make-a-donation/.”
So on to my trip to America’s Thrift Store! I made my way with a few bags on donations though I wish I had all my clothes to donate but I left some at my moms house but I had two bags worth to donate when I came to the Gadsden location. All locations take donations but only a few of the go through the clothes Gadsden is a satellite store so they send all the donations to places like Tuscaloosa and then they get distributed. I also loved learning that none of the clothes get thrown away or wasted. After the four weeks they last on the floor they are sent to a place where they can be bought in bulk for those that need clothes that cannot afford them.
So after I made my donation and got 10% off I started shopping with America’s Thrift Stores Social Media guru Christi!
