About

Brooke here,

I guess you can call me a Southerner. I guess you can say I love clothes and makeup, if we wanted to keep it short and sweet. I have lived all over the south where I have learned it is way too hot in the summer time and there are many different southern accents. I love to buy new shoes and lipsticks because a girl can never have too many. I love the world of ballet and miss it terribly. I have a family I love dearly and wouldn’t change for anything. I love classic and simplicity in everything.

about me page

I have never really shared with all of you how In a World of Bees came about. It’s kinda a weird story and it kinda started off in a different light than many would think. But here it goes. The last few days of my senior year I was watching the movie Julie & Julia with a friend and I looked at her and said I could do that I could start a blog. In the end we decide to create one together because she was better at writing and likes it a lot more and I was the artsy one. So we started our blog. I could not tell you the name of it for the life of me. I seemed to be the only one posting on it for a small bit but you have to remember we had this blog for hmmmm maybe a few months. Now like I said I am not a big writer if you read my blog you would know that so of course when I started out my writing was awful. With that being said my friend/co-blogger took it upon herself to write a blog post on our blog talking about how she didn’t like the way the blog was going and the writing on it wasn’t very good and so on. After the post went live and I found out later by reading said post. Of course I was a little heart broken for the mere fact that she went and posted it on the blog. I can’t even tell you how we handled it but I decided then and there to blog on my own. I deleted the blog. Created my own and came up with the name In a World of B(ees), There’s Me. B turned into Bees, because after what happened I thought along the lines in a world of Queen Bees there’s me. I was embracing my uniqueness and from there on I always felt like I wanted to be my true self and I strive to be me.

So there you have it folks. I hope you enjoyed the start up story of In a World of Bees and I hope you stay along for the journey, I don’t know where we are headed but I hope I can wear my leather jacket 24/7 there.

  • Stopping by from the #BLtribedare! I love photography, dogs, college football (Go Clemson!), and cupcakes, too. If I were to move to a big city, I’d be headed to London, which is one of my favorite places in the entire world!

    • Hey Natalie!
Thanks for the comment! Blog Tribe love! Hahaha. I have always wanted to go to London. I have a feeling I would love it more than New York.

  • Hi – am also stopping by from the BL tribe dare. You had a very interesting idea to use a series of photos for your “About” page! It’s really different – and memorable.

  • Hey there! I’m stopping by from #bltribedare, too, and I LOVE YOUR ABOUT ME PAGE!!! I *might* have to creatively borrow the way you did yours – I still don’t have one up on my site because I dread writing about myself – photos are so much more fun! I also LOVE NYC – I lived there very briefly and wish I could go back.

  • I love your about me page! It’s so unique! I’ve never seen anyone do a photo collage type thing. Awesome!

  • A bit late, but here I am! I find the layout with the pictures and short comments really interesting. It is very unique.
