The truth about my blog
Did I screw everything up for my blog in the past?
I had the amazing time last week hanging with a fellow blogger Ashley based [at the moment] in Alabama. Thank goodness, she reached out to me. It was amazing to talk to someone about all the blogging headaches that I have been having. Also to have someone not look at you weird when you want to take a bunch of pictures until you get the right one. We were talking about the dreaded and loved world of Instagram and if what I did back in college is screwing up what I am trying to accomplish today. Side Note: She has an amazing blog and amazing talents you can find her HERE!
Back then there were not many other bloggers out there saying this or that is what you should and should not do. Back then no one really knew what he or she was doing. Now you can throw a rock and hit many different bloggers who have learned the dos and don’ts. Now to be honest I do not believe there are right and wrong ways about blogging and social media. I do believe there are some things we should not do as a blogger. There is a time and a place for everything and some things should not be on social medias or blogs. Now looking back I did some of them. So is that what is now screwing me up to be successful or am I just not what people are looking for on the internet?
If I turned around and asked that to many different social media people and bloggers I could possible get the same or different answers. Each would have a solution. Therefore, no matter what I did back in college to my social media accounts there is possibly a way to fix it. However, how will I know if it is going to be the right thing to do?
However, it will take work now that Facebook owns Instagram and causes us to see things out of order and only if we show true interest in a person we are following. Thanks a bunch Facebook. Which sucks because that means all my true friends who are ghosts on social media will not support me or cannot support me because they never see things anymore. Not that they really supported me in the first place, sadly. Yes, I am calling them out and being blunt. Sorry no sugar coating today.
I have been somewhat part of this blogging world for 7 years. 7 years. Moreover, what do I have to show for it?
A shopping problem. A piece of the Internet that costs more than it should at this stage of its existence. Amazing friends. Some experiences I would have never said yes to. Learned more about my photography eye. Learned about my true personal style. In addition, I have tried out my people skills. I have talked to people I would have never talked to. I have meet people I would never meet.
Therefore, at the end of the day there are far too many things to be thankful for that this little piece of Internet has caused me. Sadly, the cons are not fun most days.
What is a blogger to do? Especially when there are girls right behind me starting their blogs.
Here is what I am going to do. I am going to say explicit words and forget what I should be doing, where I should be, and take the wheel and see where I can take myself.
